Seattle University and the Northwest World History Association present Multicultural Britannia 1450-1700: History and Memory for a BREXIT Britain, with Dr. John Cramsie, Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and Associate Professor, Union College.

Dr. Cramsie will use travel accounts to investigate the interactions of national identity and cultural complexity in Great Britain.  He will then explore how those issues help us understand important debates around Britain’s changing role in the world today, particularly the shortcomings of history-writing and teaching in contemporary Britain.

Reception follows.

Event is open to the participants of the World History Association meetings and members of the Seattle University Community

The annual Albert Mann Memorial Lecture commemorates the legacy of Asian History Professor Albert Mann, who taught at Seattle University for 35 years before his death in 1997. The Al Mann lecture is sponsored by the History Department.
